Luftwasser 2021

Are you tired of trawling through Youtube videos and Instagram photos of Porsche enthusiasts overseas getting to go to massive car shows, cars and coffee, social gatherings, cruises and other amazing events? Luftgekuhlt, Das Renn Treffen, Renn Drive, Dragon Rally to name a few but what about us poor Aussies? With restrictions having been in place for much of the year, the roar of a flat six has barely been heard on our roads but now that we’ve been given the green light to go out and play, it’s time Australia had it’s own big Porsche party! Welcome to Luftwasser 2021!

Luftwasser is an event created by Classic Porsche Australia, one of Australia’s most popular Porsche based Facebook groups and has been put together to encourage Porsche owners from around Australia to get together and celebrate their love for the German marque. The event will be held over the March 2021 long weekend at Albury Wodonga on the border of Victoria and New South Wales and will include a number of different activities including drives through the surrounding countryside, a track day, show and shine, and a gala dinner.

A number of different route options have been put together for the Saturday drive to give people plenty of options for how they would like to spend their day. Are you itching to do as much driving as possible? Then check out the Granya Gap drive. Perhaps you’d prefer a slower pace to visit some wineries in the region? The Relaxed Wineries drive is the one for you. Whatever it is you’re after, there’s a drive that is sure to please.

Fancy testing your skills and your machine on the track? The track day is at Barnawartha Motorsport Track and provides a great opportunity for anyone new to track days to do some untimed laps in a safe and stress-free environment. Participants will be divided into groups of 6 and will get at least three 10 minute sessions. If hitting the track isn’t your thing, there will be other activities on offer to keep you entertained.

We are still 4 months out from the event and there are already 90 participants registered. If you’re keen to be part of what is looking like being Australia’s biggest Porsche event, head on over to the official Luftwasser website and register you details.
